Callum Bradshaw returns to the LGM Series this weekend as the championship heads to the Glan-Y-Gors circuit in Wales for the penultimate round of the season. Of the six rounds completed Callum has stood on the podium three times which includes a win at Forest Edge for round four. Having been absent from round one and taken the win on track last time out he is arguably the most in form driver in the series at the moment and will be looking to further improve his stats on Sunday.
Based in the North of Wales the 1100 metre circuit often falls into the driver’s favourite circuit category. It’s undulation changes make it a real tricky circuit to drive, but when you get in a groove you don’t want to stop. The fast first sector provides the biggest overtaking opportunity and the second half of the lap often requires bravery.
As previously mentioned this will also be the penultimate round of the season with the season finale not taking place until October. Despite missing the first round, due to FIA commitments, Callum is currently in contention for 2nd in the championship. He may have started his campaign with an 8th at Larkhall, but since then his worst result was 4th at Whilton Mill last time out after a penalty cost Callum a race win.
Other than that Callum has been on the podium taking one win so far this season at forest Edge. He’ll be looking to repeat that feet before heading into the final round a little but later in the year. Racing in the LGM Series also means the classic heats and final format which never makes things straight forward. Avoiding incidents and being convincing in overtaking will be needed from Callum if he is going to win this weekend.
Given his form in the championship that shouldn’t be a problem. Many will see him as a favourite for the win and a good result could further improve his position as the driver to catch for 2nd in the championship come the final round.
